Our Mission

Founded in 2017, the Holy Cross Equity Research Club serves as the College’s premier student-run investment organization. The club bolsters the College’s liberal arts education by developing literacy in the financial services industry. With a culture of teamwork and personal growth through competition, the fund provides a rigorous training program to prepare students for internships and employment beyond their time at Holy Cross.

We offer a semester-long structured training program that focuses on asset valuation, equity research, and portfolio management. Trainees complete a case study and interview with senior leaders to gain full membership in the fund. After gaining full admittance, new members join one of our three sector coverage groups: Consumer Products, Industrials or TMT.

Each of these coverage groups create pitches throughout the semester on their chosen equities. We compile our data primarily using Morningstar and our fund’s Bloomberg Terminal. After developing thorough and compelling presentations, our analysts compete at different pitch competitions around the country, gaining valuable professional experience in the process. After graduation, many of our members take their HCERC experience to work at top firms in the financial services industry.

Thank you for attending the 2023 HCERC Student Presentations held on April 25.

Current leadership shared details on the current structure, student interest on campus, and had three teams pitch stocks, including Kellogg, Accenture and Bumble.  Alumni asked questions and provided feedback for each.

They concluded the presentation with an announcement of new leadership.

Our organization has grown rapidly since its founding. In March 2019, we won first place among 12 schools in our first regional pitch competition at the UMass Isenberg School of Business. After experiencing continued growth during the pandemic, we are excited to resume competitions this spring!
